Project Overview

The goal for Cascade Hall was to create a unified look throughout the building. This was a challenge because of the number of unique spaces the building would hold. A unified look was achieved throughout teaching spaces with the KI Strive seating family specified in a translucent poly shell. A 4-leg caster chair without arms (to accommodate various body sizes) with an upholstered seat was selected for main classrooms. Despite having a flat floor, a ‘tiered’ classroom was achieved by using varying table heights and Strive cafe stools in conjunction with the standard classroom chair.

Computer labs and Instructor stools provided additional comfort through height adjustable task seating. Lounge seating was placed in front of display monitors or glass board walls for group work on multiple floors. Individual lounge seating was tucked into quieter zones for focused personal work. Staff were moving from enclosed offices, so taller panels and sliding doors were selected for visual privacy. Clear glass toppers added for additional privacy, but still allowed light to penetrate the space.
